The Alumni Project: a bridge between Humanitas and the working world

Building a network of professionals. Cultivating a sense of belonging to Humanitas University. Bringing together those who are about to start their post-graduate careers and those who have finished their studies some time ago. Creating an open dialogue and offering opportunities.

These are the main objectives of the Alumni project, aimed at all those who have obtained a degree from Humanitas University or have carried out some academic, study, training, research or work experience there. The University today has a significant number of graduates: about 350 former students with a bachelor’s or master’s degree, a doctorate or a school of specialization degree. They are the first to be invited within this active and lively community.

What is the Alumni project about?

The project addresses anyone interested in sharing their experiences and knowledge by creating a network. Joining is completely free of charge and can be done by registering on the Hunimed website page

Several education and refresher courses will take place in the coming weeks. In November, two courses for recent graduates in Medicine will start, specifically aimed at those who are waiting for the results of the admission exam to the specialisation. The first one is designed to prepare future doctors for medical on-call service in clinics, focusing on the most frequent clinical and COVID-19 cases. The second course will be concentrated upon working in the Rsa, the Residential Health Care Residences, again focusing on handling COVID-19 cases. New courses targeting clinical and research activities will also be activated in the near future. Those joining the community will also have access to seminars, electronic resources and international databases.

Getting involved

Everyone can get involved. Joining Humanitas University’s Alumni community also means having the opportunity to become trainers and mentors, taking an active role in guiding and training future doctors and nurses. The project also intends to involve students who are about to finish their studies in the University, such as those attending the last year of their bachelor’s or the last two years of their master’s and specialization degree.

Opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students

Through several exchange opportunities with their older colleagues, undergraduate and postgraduate students will receive support and guidance for their professional future, such as advice on what paths and health facilities are available in Italy and abroad or how to strengthen their professional skills and curriculum. Students will also be informed on recruiting opportunities and open calls in a variety of facilities and institutions.
