The Degree Program

Students will learn the essential aspects of clinical and first aid sciences leading to the study of diagnostic and radiotherapy techniques applied to various body areas.

The program focuses on the study of the nervous system as well as on Interventional Radiology, health legislation and the Services organisation. The legal, bioethical and deontological principles that characterise the profession will also be covered.

During the training course, students will learn to deal with the latest generation of equipment and take advantage of all the benefits offered by a state-of-the-art hospital facility.

The Degree obtained will open the doors of public and private healthcare facilities as well as research centres in the field.

There are many potential areas of work: Conventional Radiology, Mammography, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy and Health Physics, as well as the fields of radiology for complementary use.

At the end of the three years, graduates in Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy Techniques can find employment in all areas related to the analysis of clinical data through the processing of acquired diagnostic images, as well as in the field of the production and sale of diagnostic devices. Graduates will also be able to work in veterinary and food radiology, and in ionising radiation in relation to airports or borders. The art sector is another potential area of work – for the study of authenticity and pictorial superimpositions, as well as the archaeology sector – for the analysis of human findings, cultural and architectural heritage.
