Fees & Scholarships

You are classified as either EU or Non-EU student for the purpose of assessing your tuition fees.
For EU students, the tuition fees are calculated according to the economic situation of the family of the student, on the basis of the ISEP Index.
In order to attract the most talented and motivated candidates, Humanitas University has established a merit-based scholarship programme for EU and Non-EU students, with scholarships worth between €6.000 and €20.000 per year each.

Tuition Fees

EU Students

For European students, tuition fees at Humanitas University are calculated according to the economic situation of the family of the student. There are four different categories of income, calculated according to the economic situation of the student’s family on the basis of the ISEP Index. Check the calculation formula here

The fees indicated below are yearly and cover the cost of the course. They do not include accommodation, food, books or other services. Info on our accommodation services are available here

Across the various years of course, the fee will not vary to such an extent as to significantly impact the economic situation of the student.

Non-EU Students

Humanitas University yearly offers a number of merit-based scholarships for both European and non-European students.


EU Students

For the academic year 2023/2024, there are 7 scholarships available to EU students:

  • 1 full scholarship funded by Fondazione Rocca, worth between €10,000.00 and €20,000.00, for students whose ISEE 2023 is below €40.000, plus an additional €6.000 if the student is fuori sede who hold an ISEE 2023 value not higher than € 24.000,00
  • 1 partial scholarship in loving memory of Paolo (Primo) Fesce, worth between €6,000.00 to €16,000.00
  • 4 merit-based scholarships worth between €6.000 and €16.000 per year
  • 1 scholarship worth between €6.000 and 16.000 per year reserved to High School students entitled to the award Premio Alfieri del Lavoro

FAQ’S
Q: Who is eligible for a Scholarship?

Candidates who meet the following:

  • The merit-based scholarships will be given accordingly with the position in the HUMAT admission test ranking.

*Different conditions concern to the Scholarships reserved to those students who participated in the Premio Alfieri del Lavoro and Natural Science Olympics

Q: How does it work?

The scholarship is a tuition waiver (discount on the tuition fees) worth between €6.000 and €20.000 yearly.

Q: Can I keep the scholarship for the entire length of my degree course?

The scholarship will be automatically renewed annually until graduation if you:

  • maintain an average grade of 27/30 weighted by credits awarded (GPA)
  • complete a minimum annual number of University credits (CFU) as specified in Article 7 of the Scholarships Regulations

Loans

In agreement with Banca Intesa, Humanitas University offers students the possibility to apply for a Per Merito Loan, an annual loan of €7.000.

The pre-requisites to apply for the loan are the following:

  • Italian Citizenship and Residency
  • Not holding any scholarship
  • Must have completed the first year of Medicine with at least 5o credits
  • Weighted average grade of at least 26/30

All requests must be submitted at the beginning of each new academic year by the end of October. Annual renewal of the Per Merito Loan is guaranteed with the following requirements:

For students enrolled up to the academic year 2020/2021

Annual renewal of the Per Merito Loan is guaranteed with the following requirements:

  • No history of repeating an academic year
  • Maintained a Grade Average of at least 26/30
  • Attained at least 86 credits by the end of the 2nd year
  • Attained at least 162 credits by the end of the 3rd year
  • Attained at least 219 credits by the end of the 4th year
  • Attained at least 261 credits by the end of the 5th year

For students enrolled from the academic year 2021/2022 onwards

  • No history of repeating an academic year
  • Maintained a Grade Average of at least 26/30
  • Attained at least 97 credits by the end of the 2nd year
  • Attained at least 162 credits by the end of the 3rd year
  • Attained at least 227 credits by the end of the 4th year
  • Attained at least 295 credits by the end of the 5th year

Following graduation, the Loan Repayment time period is 11 years. The interest rate applied is Eurirs 9 years + 2,95% during the loan disbursement phase and Eurirs 10 years + 2,95% during the loan repayment period.

Evaluation of the income category for enrolled students

Humanitas University assists enrolled students in determining their own income category with a new web service for uploading the required financial documents (mandatory step to request our support for the evaluation of the income category).

To access the web service, register using your Hunimed email account. You will receive a link to create your unique password.

This service is ONLY available to students already enrolled.
