Orientation Activities at Humanitas University

Admissions Tests for the Medical and Nursing Schools are approaching and to support all prospective students Humanitas University has activated number of orientation activities that give the opportunity to be in a direct contact with the life of the hospital, learn more about being a doctor or a nurse, and understand the educational system in more details.

Orientation activities include continuous Guided Tours for medical and nursing students that allow the visits to all the facilities together with our doctors and nurses,  and to find out more about the structure of the courses and educational methods.

Students interested in our Nursing course can benefit from a further initiative called “Nurse for a day” where they will be able to follow our nurses directly within the wards, and listen to near-graduates sharing their impressions and training experience.

Additionally, this week Humanitas University has also launched the first Summer School – Preparation Week for the future medical students: an intensive study program made to prepare future medical students for the admission test and the following university course. The programme is entirely taught in English and deals with all the basic subjects included in the Admission Test and in the Degree program – physics, maths, biology, genetics, chemistry and logical reasoning. For this particularly challenging topic, an Anglo-Saxon philosopher and an expert on logical reasoning will help students gain a necessary method of reasoning to successfully face the admission test.

Besides the highly interactive frontal lessons, students will also have daily group exercises, that will encourage them to apply the learned content and to acquire an effective study method. Also, they will have the opportunity to meet hospital tutors and doctors sharing their experience and listen to our current Medical School students’ impressions.

Highlights, tips and photos from our Summer School will soon follow.
