Mentorship Programme

The student peer mentorship programme is organised and supported by Humanitas University under the supervision of the Office for Medical Education and the International Students Office.

What is peer mentorship?

The peer Mentorship programme matches junior students (mentees) with senior or more experienced students (mentors), who will act as advisors or guides, providing support to, and feedback on, the mentee.

What is the role of mentors?

Mentors support junior students, by answering questions about campus and university life  (both curricular and extracurricular activities), by sharing relevant experiences and giving their mentees the contacts they might need.

How is the student peer mentorship organised at Humanitas University?

Each year incoming students are put into contact with a group of mentors from the second year through the LMS. This peer mentoring programme follows the students over the six years of the degree course.

The programme is supported through an online platform (LMS) where students can ask questions, create mentoring groups or request individual appointments.

Counseling Service

The Counseling Service offers free and confidential support for any difficulty you might be experiencing during your university path. It is an opportunity to talk about them in a confidential setting with a professionally qualified person.

Appointments with our counselor can be booked in person or by e-mail (counselingservice@hunimed.eu). The counseling service is available every Monday from 1 p.m to 2.30 p.m. in Room 12, Building 8, first floor.

What kind of problems can be helped through counseling?

During your university career there might be times when you need a little extra support than your friends and family, for example when you first arrive and have to adapt to a new context or during periods of academic pressure, or when dealing with unexpected life events that impact on your emotional wellbeing.

How does counseling work?

Counseling is a process that allows you to explore those issues that are causing you concern or distress. It’s an opportunity to talk about them in a confidential setting with a professionally qualified person.
The counselor will not tell you what to do, but will help you think about your difficulties in a non-judgmental manner and find the best way to face them.

How do I reserve an appointment?

Appointment with our counselor can be booked in person or by e-mail (counselingservice@hunimed.eu). The counseling service is available every Monday from 1 p.m to 2.30 p.m. in Room 12, Building 8, first floor.
