Doctors at the mirror – Medice cura te ipsum @ Hunimed
Humanitas University has organized this two-seminar event on the doctor-patient relationship with the purpose of stimulating a reflection on the patients’ needs, thoughts and sensitivity and what it means to be a healthcare professional, or anyone else who has direct contact with a patient.
The first meeting, dedicated to the importance of hope, took place today and was led by a well-known psychologist, together with the chaplain of the Cancer Institute of Milan.
The second meeting (March 21) will focus on the reason why people choose to become a doctor or a nurse. The seminar will be jointly led by a well-known American sociologist and an Italian doctor who teaches at Harvard Medical School and works at the MGH in Boston.
