The main field of interest is the investigation of several aspects of the feedforward motor control on human, in particular the relationship between Anticipatory Postural Adjustments and voluntary movements.
Some of the main investigated topics were: how a joint immobilisation interferes with the organization of the motor program; how different neurological motor diseases, like cerebellar ataxia and Parkinson disease, impair the postural control and which cortical brain structures are involved in producing Anticipatory Postural Adjustments.
Another important project aims to investigate, on animal, the mechanisms underlying the effect of the direct current stimulation (DCs, a potent neuromodulation tool widely used on humans) on different neural substrates and to evaluate the application of the same technique in human neurorehabilitation research.
