Integrated Teaching: Humanitas Group Hospitals
The education offered by Humanitas University is closely integrated with the Group’s hospitals.
The Humanitas Clinical Institute (IRCCS)
is a highly specialised polyclinic that integrates clinical assistance, research, and teaching, welcoming over 4,000 patients daily. Organised into specialised centres – oncology, cardiovascular, neurological, orthopedic, autoimmune, and inflammatory diseases – it also includes an Eye Centre, a Fertility Centre, and a highly specialised EAS Emergency Department. It is globally recognised for the study of immune system diseases.
Best Smart Hospital 2025 in Italy
The Humanitas Clinical Institute (IRCCS), now a Teaching Hospital, is the leading facility of a group with locations in Milan, Bergamo, Castellanza, Turin, Catania, and Messina.
It is the top Italian hospital in Newsweek’s World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2025 ranking.
Cutting-edge technologies
such as robotic surgical systems, 3 Tesla MRIs, linear accelerators for radiotherapy, and low-emission 3D imaging support personalised and multidisciplinary care pathways, making Humanitas one of the most innovative hospitals in Europe.
As the first Italian polyclinic certified by the Joint Commission International and a Harvard Business School case study for its sustainable model, the Humanitas Clinical Institute continues to stand out for its quality of care, scientific excellence, and social responsibility.
Multidisciplinarity
Humanitas University promotes an education where theoretical knowledge and clinical skills are constantly integrated.
The teaching programmes are multidisciplinary and begin with the discussion of real-world problems as they arise daily in clinical settings. This approach fosters the development of autonomy in research, decision-making abilities, and teamwork. In this context, simulation is a central teaching methodology.Students have the opportunity to learn and experiment in a safe and controlled environment, guided by tutors who actively support the learning process. Teaching objectives progressively evolve: from acquiring basic procedural skills to managing complex, high-fidelity clinical scenarios.
International Orientation
Humanitas University is an internationally recognised centre for the training of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and researchers capable of engaging with future scientific, technological, and social developments. Students at the university gain access to an excellent education, led by renowned faculty – including Visiting Professors, three of whom are Nobel laureates – and internationally experienced researchers. Furthermore, the study programmes offer opportunities for research and training abroad, thanks to a wide network of collaborations with prestigious centres and foreign medical institutions.
