Safety Day 2026: Humanitas University sets sail for Health, Safety and Environment

Events April 30, 2026

On 28 April 2026, in occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, Humanitas University hosted Safety Day 2026, transforming the Campus into an immersive “Treasure Island” dedicated to Health, Safety and Environmental awareness.

The event opened in the morning with a lecture on “Bullying and the Brain: The Neuroscience of Social Violence” delivered by Professor Sebastiano Bariselli, dedicated to high school students from three different high schools: Istituto di Istruzione Superiore “Italo Calvino”, Rozzano and Noverasco, and Istituto Tecnico Industriale Statale “G. Feltrinelli”, Milan.

From 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, students and staff took part in an interactive journey across themed districts designed to explore key aspects of prevention and wellbeing. From the Safety Fortress to Wellness Bay and the Green Forest, participants moved through the campus completing activities, collecting stamps and working towards a final treasure.

The initiative combined education and engagement, offering hands-on experiences aimed at strengthening awareness of everyday risks and responsible behaviors, both in personal life and in future professional contexts.

The programme featured a wide range of activities:

  • Fire Safety Training: simulation of real fire emergency scenarios to develop readiness, teamwork and rapid response
  • Green Game: a dynamic challenge focused on sustainability and climate awareness
  • Drive Safe, Stay Focused: an interactive experience highlighting the dangers of distraction while driving
  • Drink Less! Drive Your Best: a safe simulation to understand how alcohol affects perception and reaction time

Throughout the day, officers from the Milan Police Department were also present on Campus, sharing practical insights and techniques used to ensure safety in urban environments.
