Not a lesson about health, but a space to talk about it together. With this spirit, the first session of Ask the Nurse: pillole di salute took place at the Biblioteca di Rozzano, in the Centro Culturale Cascina Grande. The initiative is a series of meetings for young people aged 18 to 30, designed to address wellbeing topics in an informal and accessible way. The first session was held on 4 July.
Promoted by the Municipality of Rozzano in collaboration with Humanitas University, the initiative was conceived and organised by Matilda Artuso and Eleonora Logozzo, students of the Master’s Degree in Advanced Nursing Science at Humanitas University, with the aim of creating an opportunity for peer-to-peer exchange on topics related to health and everyday life.

The first session focused on stress management and the principles of healthy eating, the two topics most voted for by participants who attend the library and university spaces. The discussion started from concrete needs linked to studying, exams, work, relationships and free time. During the event, participants were invited to imagine the composition of a healthy plate, taking Harvard University’s model as a reference, and to try a few minutes of meditation and mindfulness as possible tools to bring attention back to the body, breathing and stress management.
The session was also an opportunity to highlight the role of nursing skills beyond the dimension of care, showing their contribution to prevention, health education and the promotion of more informed choices. An approach that, even in an informal setting, can help translate knowledge and good practices into tools that are close to everyday life.
Ask the Nurse will return in autumn with new sessions and new topics, continuing to address health and wellbeing starting from the questions, doubts and experiences of young people.
