On Monday 11th May, Humanitas University hosted a delegation from the EUGLOH Alliance for a meeting dedicated to future collaboration opportunities in education, research, innovation, and global health. The visit represented an important opportunity for strategic exchange between institutions sharing the goal of promoting an international and interdisciplinary vision of medicine and the life sciences.
Established within the framework of the European Universities Initiative, EUGLOH brings together several leading European universities with the mission of strengthening academic excellence, mobility, research, and social impact through a global health-oriented perspective. During the meeting, Humanitas University presented its activities and key areas of excellence, exploring potential synergies in international student and staff mobility, co-teaching, joint research projects, and initiatives focused on innovation and translational medicine.
The day’s program included an institutional presentation and an overview of the affiliated National Research Center by Luigi Maria Terracciano – Rector of Humanitas University – and Giorgio Ferrari – CEO of Humanitas University. It also featured a visit to some of the Campus’s main facilities and several discussion sessions focused on collaboration opportunities in education, research, and service. Faculty members and students also shared impact stories related to global health, and the joint degree in Health Technology Assessment and Research Methods, currently under development in collaboration with the University of Porto, was presented.
The meeting represented a further step in strengthening the University’s international connections and in progressing towards a possible future application for full membership in the EUGLOH Alliance. The discussions and exchanges initiated during the visit will continue over the coming months, with the EUGLOH 2026 Annual Summit in Hamburg, scheduled for September, serving as a new opportunity for networking, workshops, and strategic dialogue among Alliance partners.
