Mich\u00e9le Studer presso il Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM). Durante i suoi studi di dottorato, si \u00e8 concentrata sui meccanismi molecolari intrinseci che controllano la generazione dei diversi sottotipi di neuroni inibitori (IN) durante lo sviluppo della corteccia cerebrale dei mammiferi.\n\nSi \u00e8 poi trasferita nel laboratorio della Prof. Paola Arlotta presso l\u2019Harvard University a Cambridge (USA), dove ha fatto luce su aspetti fondamentali delle \u201cregole\u201d molecolari che sottendono la generazione di specifici neuroni di proiezione (PN), focalizzando le sue ricerche in particolare sui neuroni corticospinalei (CSMN), che degenerano in ALS ed altri disordini motori. Ha anche scoperto che l\u2019identit\u00e0 specifica dei vari sottotipi neuronali (PN) influenza la migrazione degli IN nella corteccia cerebrale in sviluppo, controllando la formazione dei circuiti neuronali del cervello maturo.\n\nDal Dicembre 2016, Simona \u00e8 membro eletto del Next Generation Leader Advisory Council, una commissione di 18 brillanti giovani neuroscienziati che servono come consulenti scientifici presso l\u2019Allen Brain Institute di Seattle.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-hunimed-tabs-content-tab tabs-content-tab\"><div class=\"tab-item\" data-tab-title=\"Ricerca\"><div class=\"tab-header\"><button class=\"tab-nav\" role=\"tab\" aria-selected=\"false\"><span class=\"tab-title\">Ricerca<\/span><\/button><\/div><div class=\"tab-content\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n<p>Le funzioni pi\u00f9 complesse del nostro cervello e i comportamenti pi\u00f9 elaborati, quali linguaggio, movimento ed emozioni sono eseguite da reti di circuiti neurali altamente sofisticate e stereotipate, composte da una miriade di distinti sottotipi neuronali, che popolano la nostra corteccia cerebrale.
